One of Chicago’s most elegant northern suburbs, Wilmette hugs the Lake Michigan shoreline with beautiful homes reminiscent of a bygone era. Many reflect the Prairie style popularized by Frank Lloyd Wright. Perhaps most distinctive and historically significant are the homes of the Oak Circle Historic District, a curved street boasting fifteen homes dating as far back as 1907 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Drastically different but equally as impressive, perhaps the most interesting building in Wilmette is the spectacular Bahá’í House of Worship, a stunningly beautiful domed structure clad in cement and quartz intricately carved with symbols of many religions. It is surrounded by breathtaking gardens, all offering an island of peace and prayer, and is a popular venue for weddings and events. Along with its historical and architectural renown, Wilmette looks to the future with a top educational district and many community activities, which made it one of Newsweek’s “top ten places to raise your kids.”
One of the most affluent cities in Illinois set on the shore of Lake Michigan just a stone’s throw from Chicago, Wilmette is positioned for beauty and convenience—two traits residents have come to expect from Fisher Garages as well. They trust that they will end up with the very best garage, with the very best construction and style. They know that Fisher Garages will handle everything from obtaining permits to cleaning up when they’re done. Wilmette homeowners demand Fisher Garages. Shouldn’t you?
The roof style of a detached garage is an important consideration for both aesthetic beauty and function, and Fisher Garages will help you choose the best style and garage size for your new garage structure.
Hip Roof
A gentle slope on all four sides presents a pyramid shape with a low -profile roof line that does not compete with the line of the house. The low line is good for high-wind areas, or areas where the view is important.
Gable Roof
The triangle-shaped roof with front and back gables offers a steeper pitch for efficient rain and snow runoff and could include some storage. The angle of the gable can also be designed to blend with the home’s rooflines.
Reverse Gable Roof
Here the triangular gables are at the sides, offering a longer line side to side. Like the gable roof, the pitch also allows for storage and efficient runoff. In addition, gable windows can be added along the front to match your home’s design.
